The Mitutoyo mechanical Holtest internal micrometer features three hardened-steel anvils evenly spaced at 120° for true alignment of the axis bore for accurate, easily repeatable measurements. These mechanical 3-point inside micrometers are inserted into a bore or other hole and the operator adjusts the thimble until the contact points touch the sides of the hole. The operator then reads the vernier scale. With three contact points, these micrometers are self-centering and so eliminate errors when taking two-point measurements off of center.

The Mitutoyo single rod tubular inside micrometer features carbide-tipped measuring surfaces, a precision-calibrated screw and hardened steel spindle to take highly accurate, high resolution inside dimension measurements. A laser-etched scale on the coated glare-resistant micrometer head, and a convenient locking clamp to hold dimensions in place, helps make reading measurements easier. The zero set on these tubular micrometers easily adjusts with the included key wrench.
